By accessing or using Bills AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Bills AI is an AI-powered financial analysis platform that helps you:

• Upload and analyze bank statements
• Automatically categorize transactions using AI
• Identify unnecessary spending and savings opportunities
• Track financial health with scores and recommendations

Bills AI is provided "as is" for informational purposes. We do not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bills AI. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms

3.3 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to update this information as needed.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the Service only for lawful purposes
• Not upload malicious files or attempt to harm our systems
• Not share your account with others
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the Service
• Not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without permission
• Not violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Respect intellectual property rights

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

5.1 Free Plan

The Free plan includes limited statement uploads (5 statements for regular users, 100 for first 100 users). We may modify Free plan limits at any time with notice.

5.2 Paid Plans

• Billing: Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Lemon Squeezy
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date
• Price Changes: We may change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
• Taxes: Prices exclude applicable taxes, which will be added at checkout

5.3 Cancellation and Refunds

• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• No refunds for partial months or unused statements
• Refunds may be provided at our discretion for technical issues
• After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free plan

6. Data Ownership and Usage

6.1 Your Data

You retain all ownership rights to the data you upload (bank statements, financial information). By uploading data, you grant us a license to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

6.2 Our Use of Data

• We use your data only to provide and improve the Service
• We may use aggregated, anonymized data for analytics and research
• We do not sell your personal financial data

6.3 Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@billsai.cc. We will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Intellectual Property

Bills AI and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We disclaim all warranties, including:

• Accuracy of AI-generated insights and recommendations
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bills AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including:

• Loss of profits or revenue
• Loss of data
• Financial losses based on our recommendations
• Business interruption

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bills AI, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you upload to the Service

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may:

• Perform maintenance with minimal notice
• Suspend the Service temporarily for technical reasons
• Modify or discontinue features

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant downtime.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Abuse the Service or harm other users
• Fail to pay subscription fees

Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, and your data may be deleted according to our retention policy.

13. Third-Party Services

Bills AI uses third-party services for AI processing (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini) and payment processing (Lemon Squeezy). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction. Any disputes will be resolved through:

• Informal negotiation first
• Binding arbitration if negotiation fails

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through a notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
