How Receipt Text Extraction Works
Receipt text extraction uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to automatically read and extract data from receipt images.
Extraction Process:
- 1. Image Upload - You upload a photo of your receipt
- 2. OCR Processing - AI reads the text from the image
- 3. Data Parsing - System identifies store name, date, items, prices
- 4. Structured Output - Data is organized into JSON format
- 5. Export/Save - Save to expense tracker or download as JSON

Note: OCR accuracy depends on image quality. For best results, ensure good lighting, no shadows, and clear text visibility. The current demo version shows example extracted data - full OCR functionality will be available in a future update.
